HOME SWEET HOME AT DUBAI FASHION WEEK

Our latest collection, ‘Home Sweet Home’, was presented during Dubai Fashion Week on March 11th.

“This show marks the brand’s 5th anniversary. A significant milestone considering the numerous challenges the business had to overcome. This celebration reflects Emergency Room’s evolution and growth. We wanted to create a collection that pays tribute to our origins, while tracing our future. We are thrilled with the results.” – Eric Mathieu Ritter

The “Home Sweet Home” collection revisited and revived the archives. Forgotten looks and ideas with strong nostalgic value, popular demand, and overlooked potential were pinned on the mannequins once again.

As “Home Sweet Home” underlines it, the collection stayed true to the brand’s identity by using elements of upcycled denim, knitwear and evening dresses while adopting new cuts and construction techniques. Stand out pieces include face masks retracing the brand’s story, a rounded take on the iconic embroidered denim jacket, and shirts in deadstock men’s tailoring fabric.

The color palette, ranging from white, shades of grey to black, is the common thread uniting the multiple and diverse looks, thus resulting in a cohesive, timeless, and universal collection.

Curated by Alex Chahine, the show’s soundtrack featured a mashup of various interpretations of ‘I Want To Know What Love Is” played alongside visuals by Nina Abou Zeid. The sensory elements complemented the outfits on the runway and reinforced the idea that “home” is a complex and multifaceted concept.

Show guests were offered valuable reading material, a heartfelt note written by the brand’s founder: Eric Mathieu Ritter, a printed zine retracing the brand’s story, and a short presentation of Manus, the brand behind the unique macramé designs made of repurposed printed men’s ties.

As Emergency Room celebrates its 5th anniversary and the launch of its “Home Sweet Home” collection, it revives its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and social justice.
